Melvin Van Peebles Menage A Trio

Melvin Van Peebles is known the world over for his revolutionary 1971 film Sweet Sweetback’s Baadasssss Song, but less so for being the composer of the film’s score as well as a prolific singer songwriter composer who released several albums on A&M, Stax and Atlantic records between 1968 and 1974. Throughout his transatlantic career, Mr. Van Peebles has performed his music live in a variety of settings, most recently in New York City with a stripped down combo he calls Menage A Trio featuring guitarist/percussionist/vocalist William Spaceman Patterson and baritone saxophonist “Moist” Paula Henderson, with special guests.
