About Crying Music Featuring Jherek Bischoff and Zac Pennington

One-of-a-Kind Musical Ensemble Crying Music

There are a lot of different types of musical groups out there -- but that's nothing quite like Crying Music. This multidisciplinary ensemble is made up of three very different, but all amazing talents. Jherek Bischoff is a multi-instrumentalist and composer who has been called a "pop polymath" by "The New York Times" for his lush orchestral arrangements and do-it-yourself aesthetic. Zac Pennington is the frontman for experimental pop group Parenthetical Girls, whose voice has been compared to both Perfume Genius and Lightspeed Champion. Rounding out the trio is choreographer Steven Reker, the founder of the music-dance project People Get Ready. Crying Music has performed at The Getty Center and REDCAT in Los Angeles, and in Seattle at the Moore Theatre and On The Boards. Opening the show will be Showtime featuring Jen Goma.
