"The Music of Buena Vista Social Club": A Tribute to Cuba's Golden Age

The Buena Vista Social Club is much more than just a beloved Havana music venue. The sizzling 1940s nightspot went on to inspire an Oscar-nominated documentary, Grammy-winning albums and a musical genre celebrating Cuba's musical "Golden Age" of the '30s, '40s and '50s. Now a red-hot trio of musicians, led by guitarist-vocalist Francois Wiss, pays tribute to those dynamic, danceable sounds at New York City's famed Caf?? Wha? Wiss studied music at Paris' Conservatoire, where he was mentored by legendary guitar master Pierre Cullaz. Now, joined by Damian Quinones (guitar and vocals) and Danny Valdez (percussion and vocals), Wiss performs such Buena Vista Social Club favorites as "Chan Chan," "El Payande," "Se Seco el Arroyito" and many more.
