About MAD MAX Movie Night

MORRICONE YOUTH returns to Monty Hall to perform it's original live re-score for George Miller's original MAD MAX (1979).

The first installment of the post-apocalyptic, dystopian Mad Max franchise finds Main Force Patrol officer Max Rockatansky (Mel Gibson) facing off against the violent motorbike gang lead by the ruthless Toecutter (Hugh Keays-Byrne). Seeking revenge in one of the most iconic four-wheeled menaces ever put to screen, a black 1973 Ford XB Falcon GT351 sedan limited edition hardtop "Pursuit Special" (the last of the V-8 Interceptors), leather clad Max leads a life of justice and cold blooded revenge around the disparate landscapes surrounding Melbourne, Australia. Former Sydney-based medical doctor George Miller initially conceived Mad Max as a "silent film with sound," employing highly kinetic images inspired by Harold Lloyd and Buster Keaton over a simple narrative.

Morricone Youth's re-score was released on limited edition gold/black swirl and coke bottle green vinyl earlier this year by Country Club Records (distributed by Light in the Attic) as part of the band's ongoing live re-score vinyl series. Copies of both will be available at the show.
