"The Bullpen": Ex-Con's Solo Show Reveals an Unjust Justice System

Of all the life-changing discoveries made behind bars, a talent for writing and acting has to be one of the rarer prison-house epiphanies. Nevertheless, during his 25-year sentence for attempted murder, Joe Assadourian discovered just that: an affinity for language coupled with an ability to become not just "another person," but dozens of well-defined characters. Now, recently released from prison, Assadourian showcases his amazing gift in "The Bullpen", his 18-character solo show. Inspired by his own experience, "The Bullpen" follows a man who is arrested, arraigned and put on trial for a crime he claims he didn't commit. He then finds himself judged by two different courts: once by an actual jury of his jeers ... and then again by the fascinating and hilarious denizens of the "bullpen" in which he's being held.
