About Terri Lyne Carrington's Mosaic Project

Grammy-Winning Jazz Star Terri Lyne Carrington Helms Mosaic Project

Three-time Grammy-winning drummer, composer and bandleader Terri Lyne Carrington has been at the top of her game for nearly 25 years, collaborating with luminaries like Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Al Jarreau and Cassandra Wilson. Her critically-acclaimed 2011 release "The Mosaic Project" earned her a Best Jazz Vocal Album trophy and featured some of the most prominent female jazz artists of the last few decades, including Esperanza Spalding, Dianne Reeves and Dee Dee Bridgewater. Now, she's teaming up with yet another bevy of powerhouse female vocalists for a session at New York's B.B. King Blues Club. Her Mosaic Project features the pipes of soul singers Valerie Simpson (of Ashford & Simpson fame), Jaguar Wright and Caranee Wade. They'll belt out tracks from Carrington's latest ensemble album "Love and Soul", which swaps jazz vocals for more mellow R&B tones.
