Musical "Search: Paul Clayton" Recalls Dylan's Unsung Folk Mentor

"Search: Paul Clayton" gives folk fans a glimpse at one of Bob Dylan's first musical mentors. The musical, staged at New York's Stage 72 at the Triad, brings into focus the man who helped open doors for young Bobby Zimmerman when he first arrived in Greenwich Village in 1961 to begin his career as Bob Dylan. At the time, singer-songwriter and folklorist Clayton was one of the most prominent young folk singers in America. He taught Dylan the tricks of the trade -- including inspiring such songs as "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right" -- all while falling hopelessly in love with the rising star. "Search: Paul Clayton" playwright Larry Mollin takes you back in time with this real-life story of love, music and betrayal, a production he calls a "wiki folk musical."
