About Paper Box presents: Progress, Ruckzuck, The Travelers, Sharif Keyes & The Groove
In an effort to keep the tradition of Psychedelic Freak Out shows alive, Ruckzuck carve their place in the music world with improv space-jams and melodic songwriting. Ruckzuck is a combination of two garage rocking brothers from the suburbs of Long Island (Nick & Matt Bedo) and a kazoo humming elf from the mountains of Pennsylvania (Faith Kelly). The trippy-trio is currently touring in support of their debut mini-album "Ruckzuck", with plans on releasing a second batch of sounds this Spring. Ruckzuck treats every show as a unique adventure, giving the audience something different every night.
The Travelers are an adventures bunch who dabble in much, and do much more than dabble, they delve. They love to try new things and it's what has inspired their music to take flight and continue to soar. The Travelers consists of Kyle Hazelton on guitar and vocals, Jonathan Hagen on guitar and vocals, Justin Hazelton on flute and vocals, and Mike Ziegler on Percussion. The Travelers share writing responsibility and have a dynamic and eclectic style in doing so. You can always find them at Triumph's open mic night in Old City on a late Sunday night, with Host Dani Mari.
Kyle Hazelton and Jonathan Hagen met at Philadelphia University. It only took one jam session to know they were a musical match. Being that they are both so multifaceted, they have plenty of ammunition for the fight up the rungs of the music industry ladder; they both write poetry, sing, play guitar, and create stimulating visuals for their audiences. Justin Hazelton, Kyle's brother, started playing flute, writing, and delivering ferocious lyrical lines with The Travelers in November 2010. Mike Ziegler came later that same month to offer his Gettysburg rat-a-tat-tat to the group. Only time will tell where their journey takes them.
Progress is a collective of musicians who believe in capturing the essence of music. They're an Afro Latin, Funk Jam band that also draws on influences from rock, soul, RnB, and hip-hop.
