Joelle Lurie Trio

Joelle Lurie is a NYC-based singer, songwriter, and voice-over artist. She brings her distinctive ???jazzed-up pop & popped-up jazz??? modern style to Take Me There (2014), her debut album of standards, originals, and reimagined pop covers. Featured on NPR???s Song Travels with Michael Feinstein, Joelle's record features tight arrangements and production by her longtime bassist/bandmate, Ben Gallina, and the genre-crossing Pinehurst Trio.

Joelle and her trio started out as close friends all living on the same block in the Upper Manhattan neighborhood of Washington Heights. Together, they have performed at venues including Lincoln Center, Birdland Jazz Club, SubCulture, Zinc Bar, New York Stock Exchange, Four Seasons, Top of the Rock, The Standard Hotel's Boom Boom Room, Rockwood Music Hall (upcoming June 2015 residency), & as the featured house band for the James Beard Awards. Upcoming dates Summer 2015, include The Rainbow Room and Regattabar in Cambridge, Mass.

Joelle's voice can also be heard in a variety of recordings, voice over spots, jingles, and backup vocals, including on the acclaimed album The Historical Conquests of Josh Ritter (Sony Victor/Independent).

On stage and screen, Joelle has been featured in the 24 Hour Musicals (Gramercy Theatre), as a soloist with the Boston Holiday Pops, in Jerry Springer The Opera (Speakeasy Stage Company), on The Wendy Williams Show, and as a backup singer for Chris Mann at NBC???s Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting Ceremony.

Joelle studied at NEC???s preparatory jazz program, Tanglewood, Indiana University???s School of Music, and holds a Bachelor of Music from Boston University's College of Fine Arts. She grew up in the Boston area, has 3 younger brothers, and is a proud ginger.
