About It's Only A Play

Matthew Broderick & Nathan Lane Lead All-Star Cast in "It's Only A Play"

Broadway's Kings of Comedy, Tony Award winners Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane, are back together again in "It's Only A Play", a star-studded effort written by four-time Tony winner Terrence McNally and directed by three-time Tony winner Jack O'Brien. The behind-the-scenes shenanigans of this play-within-a-play follow hilariously harried playwright Peter Austin (Broderick) as he waits out the opening night of his new comedy to see if it will be a hit. Joining him at the townhouse of the play's daffy producer (Tony winner Katie Finneran) are his television producer best friend (Lane), a hilariously washed-up Hollywood diva (Stockard Channing) and a lethal drama critic (F. Murray Abraham). Called "a mammoth hit" by "The New York Times", "It's Only A Play" is a tornado of sharp satire about the business of big-budget theater, replete with impromptu selfies and celebrity take-downs galore.
