Faux-Real present Lysistrata

With an approach to classics that is both raucous and rigorous, Faux-Real Theatre brings Aristophanes’ ancient battle of the sexes to vivid life, in the form of a poetry slam at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe. Faux-Real does Lysistrata in 2015 just like the Greeks did in 411 BCE: with a chorus, bold theatrics, live music, colorful masks, and oversized phalluses. The wine will flow as Faux-Real turns the Nuyo into an ancient Greek marketplace where Aristophanes’ bawdy classic will delight Athenians and New Yorkers alike.
