"Dames at Sea": Hilarious Take on '30s Musicals

The old-timey charm of '30s movie musicals sails into Broadway's Helen Hayes Theatre with "Dames at Sea", an affectionate parody of the grand, glorious and often over-the-top song-and-dance productions of that era. The show follows Ruby, a sweet small-town girl with stars in her eyes, who goes to New York City to pursue her dream of making it big on Broadway. Once she arrives in the Big Apple, she falls in love with Dick, a songwriting sailor who makes for a great duet partner -- but will Mona, a Broadway star and temperamental diva, stand in their way? Come along as Ruby and Dick try to tap dance, write and sing their way to success while striving to save a calamity-stricken Broadway show in the process. Directed and choreographed by three-time Tony Award nominee Randy Skinner ("42nd Street, Irving Berlin's White Christmas"), this gem of a show has been reimagined for Broadway and taken to spectacular new heights!
