About Cameron Mitchell, Carrie Welling Dual EP Release Shows

Chelsea No Evil is the latest release from Cameron Mitchell, a New York City-based musician raised in the south on a healthy dose of pedal steel and telecaster licks. The EP is a collection of six new songs written over the last year with the mantra: “When the unexpected happens, songs will follow.” The EP ranges from contemplative acoustic ballads to hard-punching country-rockers.

Recorded in November and December of 2014 at Mason Jar Music in Brooklyn, NY, the studio prides itself on "preserving analog principles in a digital age."

The EP was produced by Dan Knobler (Rodney Crowell, Rosanne Cash, Alicia Keys, Chris Thile), and features some incredible playing by some of the finest musicians NYC has to offer. Todd Caldwell (keyboards - Crosby, Stills, and Nash), Chris Anderson (bass - Ingrid Michaelson, A Great Big World), Jason Burger (drums - Tift Meritt, Rodney Crowell), with additional help from Carrie Welling, Jon Seale (Feist, Bela Fleck), and The Barnstorm.

On Friday, April 24th, Carrie Welling and Cameron Mitchell will be having a dual EP release show at Rockwood Music Hall. Both artists contributed to each other’s EP and are joining forces to celebrate the release of both projects.

Carrie Welling, a graduate of The American Musical and Dramatic Academy, has garnered national attention with a consistent string of successful endeavors. From lead vocalist of The Shells, nominated for an MTV Video Award for NYC Best Breakout Artist to the Cosmo-Country duo The Vanity Belles, (New & Noteworthy, iTunes 2012) and most recently the genesis of a rising solo career, Carrie has traveled the country performing original songs for nearly a decade. Delivering the national anthem for the NBA, MLB and American LeMans raceway, Welling is no stranger to the call of an arena sized venue. Armed with girl-next-door charisma and a smooth, soulful country voice with teasing twang, ala Natalie Maines, Carrie wins over her audiences with ease.
