A theater company most terrible is about to stage a murder most foul … no good can come of this. Actually, these wannabe thespians will be lucky to make it through opening night without some real corpses stacking up, because this is The Play That Goes Wrong. And boy, does it. But what’s a chaotic series of mishaps for them makes for “the funniest play Broadway has ever seen” (Huffington Post) and proof that sometimes a show can be so wrong, it’s right. Broadway’s most award-winningest comedy, The Play That Goes Wrong has racked up more laurels than Caesar, conquering stages from Paris to London to Broadway, and now it’s returning to wreak hilarious havoc on New World Stages. See for yourself why Forbes said, “You’ll never have a better time in a theater!”

Bach. Die letzten Leiden des Erlösers (The Last Sufferings of Christ) was first performed in 1770, and until 1785 was performed in Bach’s native Hamburg every year. For a singer with such powerful pipes, it’s something of a shock to hear vocalist Emilie Surtees describe herself as primarily a “listener.” Then again, maybe it’s her extraordinary capacity to listen that gives her tribute to Whitney Houston, Greatest Love of All, its almost surreal accuracy. For Surtees not only replicates hit songs, power note for power note, but communicates the soul of each singer who originally recorded them — something that requires not only incredible vocals but also a profound appreciation of music. Be moved and amazed by a tribute artist every bit as talented as the singer she honors in this dynamic concert at New York’s Club Bonafide .

A true musical icon, the late Marvin Gaye possessed a musical genius that enabled him to easily transition from creating upbeat pop to more socially conscious music, from upbeat funk to “satin-sheet soul.” His long string of hits includes “I Heard it Through the Grapevine,” “How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You),” “What’s Going On,” “Let’s Get it On,” “Got to Give It Up” and “Sexual Healing.” Meanwhile, beloved singer Bill Withers is known for irresistible chart-toppers like “Lean on Me,” “Ain’t No Sunshine,” “Just the Two of Us” and more. He has three Grammys and is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Join R&B tribute impresarios Soul Nfinity as they pay homage to these two legends. Incorporating soul, funk and blues, this collective of top New York musicians is sure to get your mojo flowing at Groove in Greenwich Village.
In 1920, the United States enforced the 18th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution which banned liquor production, public consumption and the selling of anything alcoholic. This catapulted the criminal world and helped the mob monopolize and grow their illegal business of alcohol. It made some of the most vicious gangsters gain fame and fortune. Illegal bars known as speakeasies opened by the thousands and served bootleg liquor to a thirsty public. On this tour, you will walk in the footsteps of the gangsters and visit some of the watering holes that served illegal liquor during Prohibition. There you can sip a craft cocktail served by some of the top bartenders in New York City. While sipping on your now "legal" alcoholic beverage you will hear stories of the Mafia and how it infiltrated into society. At the end of the tour you will be a “wiseguy” about Prohibition and the Italian mob. Further, you will stop in for some of the best pizza in all of New York City. The tour kicks off at Lt. Petrosino Square.

On this three-hour pub crawl, a friendly and knowledgeable guide will take you on a tour of Greenwich Village, while sharing scandalous stories about some of actors, writers, poets and playwrights who frequented the speakeasies. Hailed by no less an authority than Doors co-founder and keyboardist Ray Manzarek, the band is famed for re-creating the primal, poetic atmosphere of a vintage Doors concert with classic-rock faves like “Riders on the Storm,” “Love Her Madly,” “Hello, I Love You” and more. Together for more than 27 years, the Soft Parade has toured 20 countries, been joined onstage by original Doors guitarist Robby Krieger and has performed hundreds of concerts worldwide.

When it comes to Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber’s classic, the numbers are staggering — as are the melodic score and inventive stagecraft, including a first-of-its kind falling chandelier. The Phantom of the Opera has won more than 50 major theater awards, including the Tony for Best Musical. It’s the longest-running musical in the history of Broadway. At its core, though, this exciting tale of doomed romance has stood the test of time with its tragic love story featuring a mysterious masked man living beneath the majestic Paris Opera House who becomes obsessed with a beautiful opera singer. The soaring score features the memorable title tune, along with “Masquerade,” “The Music of the Night” and “All I Ask of You,” with a book based on the suspenseful French novel by Gaston Leroux. This visual and aural spectacular provides an unmatched live experience. See it now on Broadway at the Majestic Theatre.

From three-time Tony® winner and Hamilton choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler comes a poignant and inspiring new American musical that explodes with infectious music and high-octane, heart-stopping dancing. It’s 1945. As America’s soldiers come home to ticker-tape parades and overjoyed families, Private First Class Donny Novitski, singer and songwriter, struggles to rebuild the life he left behind. When NBC announces a national competition to find the nation’s next great musical superstars, Donny sees a lifeline for himself and some fellow veterans that gives them the purpose they so desperately need. Together, they form a band unlike any the nation has ever seen. Along the way, they discover the power of music to face the impossible, find their voice, and finally feel like they have a place to call home. Bandstand is “both a peppy celebration of can-do spirit and a more somber exploration of what American servicemen experienced when they marched home from World War II. It’s a great argument for why theater can sometimes tell a story more boldly and more viscerally” (The New York Times_). “The show defies you not to be moved” (_Time Out New York).

As their two adult sons struggle to cope with the shocking news, they are forced to question everything they assumed about the people they thought they knew best. Exciting news. We’re inviting you to one big girly sleepover, where you share weird secrets about your body and let out all your feelings. Except, it’s an hour, and guys can come. And we think the invitation is long overdue. There are SO many things that women go through with cheesy grins on our faces like nothing’s happening! That’s what we’re expected to do, isn’t it? Because if we complain about it, or cry about it, or really say anything about it, we’re just being “girls.” Welp, F that noise.
The magician is sick in bed but the show must go on! Enter The Magician’s Assistant, who blunders onstage and has to entertain the crowd, without knowing how to perform any magic tricks. No rabbits. No tricks. No problem! This adult friendly physical comedy for kids 3-10 is about the transformative power of believing in yourself and asking for help. Creator, performer, and clown Mélissa Smith switches characters with expert comedic flare, finding a delicate balance between chaos and control, vulnerability and confidence. “The Magician’s Assistant” encourages empathy, laughter, and eating your veggies! After it’s NY debut in Frigid Festival 2017 The Magician’s Assistant went on to play for elementary students from all 5 boroughs at The Tank and as part of the innagural Family Series Program at the Strand Theater in Rockland Maine. Pre show activities and video projections and animation by Ingrid Larson add an extra dose of unexpected folly to the show.

Your generated titles will be presented to an improv team who will have to use them to create improv scenes. Does that sound confusing? If you come to the show we promise it will make sense! Just trust your hosts Danny Stratton and Leland Long who both love improv and stand-up and know that both forms of comedy can be mashed together to create a wonderful beast of a show, will they be able to pull it off!?
